Martin Jones manages the CompEx Scheme for JTL on behalf of the EEMUA, the Scheme Owners. Qualified as an Electrical Engineer with British Coal Corporation in 1980, he left BC in 1994 to manage sawn timber, chipboard and MDF production for Kronospan, Europe’s largest panel board producer. A lifelong learner, he studied for a Masters Degree in Business Administration at Glyndwr University whilst Group Projects Manufacturing Manager at Marlin Industries. This led to the post of Operations Director with NWP Ltd before being offered the opportunity to move to JTL in 2006 as Operations Business Manager with primary responsibility to manage and promote the CompEx Scheme worldwide.
Responsibility for ensuring safe methods of installing and maintaining electrical equipment in hazardous areas has been the core responsibility throughout his career. Promoting CompEx as the preferred Competency Validation of Personnel Scheme for Electrical Equipment Users in hazardous areas has become his main focus over the last three years.
